Thizz izz our first Edition of New Rose in the Language I call English.
No, we`re not a crazy Bunch of Flower Lovers, and we have definitly NO relations to the old, longgone, French Label. So why did we do this?
Here`s our deep and honestly true Story:
On a cold november day in 1976, at 4:12 pm, the legendary London Stiff Label released a piece of Vinyl from a Band which at these Days only a few People know. The group of fine young Upper Class Oxford graduates called themself „The Damned“. No one would have believed that this Debut 7“ (Buy6) would be the starting Point of one of the greatest Careers in Music History. (Puh, didn`t this sound good?). But one thing was evident, even for the deafest Music Journalist, the Titlesong was a unbelieavable Smasher. And many people still believe that this was the Beginning of the punk Rock Aera in Europe. All you cleaver Bastards might now know the Name of this Song. Don`t you?? Oh gosh, Shame on you! Please go on surfing HERE
Hope there are still some Idiots here? So okay. The Name of the Song was „New Rose“, really not that big thing to find out, wasn`t it Watson? However. Back to History. Years and Years later the Story started like so many Punk Rock Stories in Germany did: A little Boy going on a School Class Holidaytrip to London. It was the Year 1980 and from there on our little Pisser detecated his poor Life to Punkrock. A few years later he started his own Megasuperdoublewhopper Zine and he called it, guess how, yeah, „New Rose“. The New Rose Fanzine from Germanys Punkrockcity No 1 Berlin released in the Years 1985/86 astonishingly 3 Issues with unbelieavable 300 Copies each.

And what`s the Beef? Okay okay, the Name of this little Hero was Frank N.
And so we`re back on the Track. Decades later there was an astonishing ressurection.
But this is another part of History.
How everything began:
Even in a City like Berlin it is normally impossible to find a Radio Station witch serves the musical taste of People who expect more from muisc than Phil Collins or Aerosmith. So the only alternative was to make our own Radio Programm.
This was possible on the Berlin Open Channel (OKB), which is supported by an offical City Cultural Program. But who cares, as long as they allowed us to do what we want, it`s no problem.
So we started in December 1996 with a legendary Show full of troubles and mistakes. But our Radio Breakdown was born and even after years not soooo much has changed.
To get an impression what we`ve done here please take a look in our Archives. You`ll find, more or less, all Songs we´ve ever played.
But why the heck are you doing English Pages?
Well, I know that my English is propably as worse as my Homepage Design, but who cares?
During the last years since the HP is online a growing number of mails reached me from People, Bands or Zines all over the World. Some complained, that they don´t speak german and so couldn`t understand what is written here. So I decided, that it is now the Time to get international. In a few Days it`ll propably be possible to listen to us through the Internet, so i think it is necesarry to accompany this with some pages in english.
I haven`t translated everything. Most Links stand for themself, it`s not necesarry to translate my descriptions. Also the Gig Dates for example are not needed to be translated.
